Meet Our Instructors

Robby Syruws is the proud founder of Performing Hearts Theatre. He graduated from Buffalo State College with his Bachelors in Childhood Education with a minor in English Language Arts and his Masters in Educational Technology. As a performer, Robby has been seen in countless productions throughout the Western New York area for over a decade now. Robby currently teaches first grade at the Charter School for Applied Technologies. When not in the classroom, or on stage himself, Robby has also directed and choreographed numerous productions for local schools in the area. Robby is forever grateful to be combining his love of teaching with his passion for theatre through Performing Hearts Theatre.

Kelly Ersing has been teaching music for over a decade, and is currently the vocal music teacher at Armor Elementary in Hamburg, NY. She is also the producer and director of the musicals there. Previously, she taught music at Tonawanda City Schools and also DeSales Catholic School where she also vocal directed for their musicals. Kelly has performed with the Palace Theatre in Lockport for the last twelve years. Favorite roles include BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (Belle), INTO THE WOODS (The Baker’s Wife), SHREK THE MUSICAL (Princess Fiona), SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL (Gertrude McFuzz), THE WIZARD OF OZ (Dorothy Gale), and most recently JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING…(Narrator). Kelly holds a B.M. in Vocal Performance from SUNY Fredonia, a B.M. in Music Education from Buffalo State, and an M.M. in Music Education from the University of Buffalo. Kelly has also had the privilege of vocal directing with Theatre of Youth in Buffalo (THE MUSICAL ADVENTURES OF FLAT STANLEY, KNUFFLE BUNNY: A CAUTIONARY MUSICAL, PINKALICIOUS and A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD). Kelly is very excited to be working with two of Western NY’s finest theatre educators to give Performing Hearts Theatre actors an experience they’ll never forget!

Dyan Mulvey is the owner and operator of the Dyan Mulvey Dance Academy. Dyan's studio has been in business for over 40 years. Many of her dancers have toured such places as Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, Brussels, London, and most recently, Hawaii. Besides her studio, she has always been involved with Curtain Up Productions including: Billy Elliot, Beauty and the Beast, Joseph, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Sound of Music, West Side Story, Peter Pan, Music Man, Seussical the Musical, The Wizard of Oz, Annie, Shrek, Mary Poppins, and All Shook Up. Dyan has also choreographed for many of the DeSales Catholic School Productions.

Marnie Aldrow is a private vocal and piano teacher in Niagara County and has been the musical director and pit keyboardist for many productions with Theatre in the Mist, The Palace Theater, Niagara University and several local high schools. Previously, Marnie was the general music teacher and choral director at both Fredericksburg Academy in Fredericksburg, VA and Stella Niagara Education Park in Lewiston, NY. She was fortunate to have an internship at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. and to work on the production team at Artpark. Some of her more memorable credits include: the Starpoint High School Kenny award winning production of Mary Poppins, 42nd St, The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, Beauty and the Beast, Freckleface Strawberry, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Phantom of the Opera, Hairspray, Fiddler on the Roof, Les Miserables, Seussical, Oklahoma, Cats, Anything Goes and Into the Woods. Marnie has enjoyed every moment working with this talented group and wants to thank everyone for supporting local theater and education of the arts!
